Local women keeping the traditions of Icod alive (III)
San Andrés es la fiesta de nuestro pueblo, es gente de todas las edades arrastrándose en las calles, es olor a castañas asadas y a vino nuevo.
Patricia Martín Guzman y Yexsiviset Candelaria Luis Moreno saben muy bien de esto e intentan describir con palabras lo que sentimos todos los/las icodenses cuando llega noviembre y nos ponemos nuestras “mejores galas” para ir a arrastrarnos por las calles del pueblo.
Ellas protagonizan la tercera entrevista dentro de nuestro proyecto Erasmus+ “STOP FENCES”, Mujeres en la tradición icodense.
¡Muchas gracias, chicas! Cuando todo esto pase, nos volveremos a ver en las calles y nos echaremos un viaje (a Álvaro se lo prometieron).

St. Andrew’s day is Icod’s festivity, it is people of all ages sliding down streets, it is the smell of roasted chestnuts and new wine.
Patricia and Yexsiviset know this very well and they try to put in words what we feel when November arrives.
