Type of Mobility

Key Action 1: Learning Mobility of Individuals is all about providing opportunities for individuals to improve their skills, enhance their employability and gain cultural awareness.

Under Key Action 1 organisations can apply for funding to run mobility projects. These projects enable organisations to offer structured study, work experience, job shadowing, training and teaching opportunities to staff and learners.

Beneficiaries are able to spend a period of time in another participating country gaining valuable experience of life, study and work with the aim of increasing the opportunities available to them in the future.

This mobility project can comprise one or more of the following activities:

Student mobility:

  • ƒA traineeship (work placement) abroad in an enterprise or any other relevant workplace.

Traineeships abroad at a workplace are supported during short cycle (Vocational Training Higher Cycles, 2º Year, as FCT internship) studies and within a maximum of one year after the student’s graduation.

Staff mobility:

  • ƒTraining periods: this activity supports the professional development of HEI teaching and non-teaching staff in the form of training events abroad (excluding conferences) and job shadowing/observation periods/training at a partner HEI, or at another relevant organisation abroad.

At IES Puerto de la Cruz – Telesforo Bravo we have been involved in students traineeship mobilities and staff training periods for many years both vocational training and higher education as part of the older LLP programmes Erasmus and Leonardo da Vinci.

In the new Erasmus+ programme we are trying our best to continue offering both types of mobilities and we have been awarded, for the 2016-2017 academic year, mobilities in higher education for students (16 placements for traineeships) and staff (2 placements). In vocational training, we have been awarded with 10 placements for traineeships.
