KA101 ERASMUS + PROJECT LOGO COMPETITION (2020)

The CLIL program at Ichasagua Secondary School organised a competition aimed at the design of a logo that is intended to become the representative image of our KA101 Erasmus+ Project «Caleidoscope: Sprachen, Diversity et l’education», which was approved by the European Commission. Our project was tackled from an interdisciplinary perspective, that is, any activity carried out at our secondary school from other Projects or Departments can be included and they will be related to its goals:

  • Improvement of linguistic competence in foreign languages.
  • Inclusion and tolerance.
  • Prevention of radicalisation.

The competition was governed by the following rules:

  1. Objective: design of a logo intended to be the representative image of our KA101 Erasmus+ Project «Caleidoscopio: Diversity, Sprachen et l’Education».
  2. Participants: the competition was aimed at the whole educational community (students, teachers, non-teaching staff and families).
  3. Proposal:
    1. The design had to be original.
    2. It was advisable to use colours easily transferred to greyscale, so that the design could be carried out either in colour or black and white.
    3. Delivery format: BMP, GIF, JPG or TIF.
    4. The topic had to be related to the title and the objectives of our project. Those logos with sexist, racist, xenophobic or offensive against people or institutions were automatically excluded.
    5. Participants should have kept copies of the material submitted as these will not be returned.
    6. Once submitted, the logo proposal could not be withdrawn.
  4. Project submission: the proposals had to be sent to the following email: ichaclil@iesichasagua.com with the subject line «Erasmus+ KA101 Project Logo Competition». The participants had to write their full name, type of participant from the educational community along with their email. Proposals were received from 20/11/2020 and deadline was due on 22/12/2020.
  5. Jury and verdict. The jury was composed by AICLE members and teachers belonging to the project as well as a representative of the management team. The verdict was reported to the winner on 22nd January 2021.
  6. Prize: voucher for a sports or computer shop (50 euros).

FRENCH CONNECTION

Ichasagua Secondary School was proud to welcome three French teachers from the Collège Pierre-Auguste Renoir in Ferriéres-en-Gàtinais who visited our educational centre on an international exchange program called Erasmus+(KA101) funded with support from the European Commission. They aim to observe our teaching practice and our implication in a varied range of projects related to mediation, equality, recycling and sustainability among others, so that they can be implemented at their own school.

This key action program will lead to another project which involves not only teachers’ but also some French and Canarian students’ mobility. The name of the project is “Co-responsible”: our European identity, our engagement-365 days to fulfil it” which will be developed within two years has also been funded by the European Commission.

Students had the opportunity to make and enjoy different activities related to ADVENTURE/ NATURE, SPORT and HISTORY :

Climbing and Abseiling – climbing up our outdoor climbing wall, this climbing activity is a great team building experience for the children as they love to encourage each other to the top.

-Survival – With the shelter activity, we take the children into the bushlands around navacerrada and teach them about survival.
Orienteering – The children will have a number of coordinates they need to find on the map, they will be separated into teams, shown how to use a compass.

  SPORT

Zorb soccer is definitely one of the most exciting games of 2017, and the huge inflatable balls are perfect for our outdoor nature camps.

Hockey – Field Hockey is a game played on a turfed field between two teams each whose object is to direct a ball into the opponent’s goal

STORY TELLING

Fantastic work done by our students of 3rd ESO CLIL at the Storytelling Days of the CEP Tenerife South held at the SIEC of San Isidro. Several High Schools and Primary Schools were able to participate in these days where the students have been the real protagonist: our works «Be Colorful to Be Happy» and «Adventure to Las Vegas» have been very fondly welcomed. Here’s a taste of a magical day. Thanks to our Ichasagua High School and Tenerife South CEP for making possible this type of activities that serve as motivation to communicate in English.

Chinyero Excursion

On April 11, 2019 the students from 3rd ESO went on a hiking excursion to visit the volcanic sites at ‘Chinyero’ and ‘Arenas Negras’. The group hiked for several hours on this beautiful day, with clear views of Teide, exploring the natural site. It was a physical challenge but all enjoyed the comradery of their friends and classmates.
