Investment in social and health infrastructure that contributes to national, regional and local development and reduces health inequalities and transition from institutional services to local services.

The European Union Regional Development Program (ERDF) has a series of actions for the 2014-2020 period corresponding to the development of social and health infrastructures that contribute to national, regional and local development, and reduce health inequalities and the transition of institutional services to local services.

With this investment priority the intention is to contribute to finance and achieve the objectives set out in the 2016-2017 Canary Islands Health Plan, foreseeing investments in infrastructures in all the islands, with special emphasis on hospitals, which will be aimed at the improvement or replacement of certain existing infrastructures that are insufficient or inadequate due to technological advances and the development of new ones.

Due to the outbreak of the pandemic caused by Covid19, it has not been possible to carry out investment projects in health infrastructures during the 2020 financial year.
