INTRODUCTION
Once the Directorate General for Universities completes the verification process and receives authorisation from the Autonomous Community, Royal Decree 822/2021, dated 28 September sets forth how to monitor official qualifications filed in the Spanish Registry of Universities, Educational Centres and Qualifications (RUCT), until such time as they have to be reassessed in order to renew their accreditation.
Using the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG), recommendations by the REACU, together with basic national guidelines established for monitoring official qualifications that have been set forth in CURSA protocol, the ACCUEE has launched a Official Qualifications Monitoring Programme for Universities in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands.
The two core functions of the Agency’s monitoring system are to check that a qualification has been implemented correctly and that it is being delivered in line with the initial proposals presented by the university, and to analyse results once it is up and running.
Note: The ACCUEE is currently working on updating the protocols in compliance with Royal Decree 822/2021, of 28 September, and in accordance with the agreements adopted in this respect by the Spanish Network of University Quality Agencies (REACU).
