"Skills" are competitions designed to stimulate students, teachers, and businesses, as well as serve as a platform for exchanging ideas and debating the quality and innovation of different fields.
There are regional, national, WorldSkills, and EuroSkills competitions, which aim to disseminate information and share knowledge about professional skills by bringing together vocational training institutions, companies, and leading associations. This provides an opportunity to promote quality, innovation, and cultural exchange among professionals from all over the world.
Spain is a member of these organizations and hosts the Spainskills (national vocational training championship) to select students who will represent Spain in European and global competitions.
Through these competitions, the exchange of information and necessary technological updates are encouraged, enabling the educational system to respond to the evolving labor needs of different productive sectors.
ORIGIN
The founder of the Skills was Mr. Francisco Albert-Vidal (Alicante), who, together with Portugal, held the First International Vocational Skills Competition. In recognition of his work, WorldSkills established the Albert Vidal Award, which is given to the participant with the highest score in the entire international competition.
