Academic Maths (3ºESO)

In our first algebra lesson we did some practice using TRAVEL GAME. In each step, the correct answer of an equation moved you left or right. The end of the activity was the end of the trip and every couple ended up in their destiny city. Those who got to Rome were the ones who solved all the equations correctly. Did you get to Rome?

En nuestra primera sesión de álgebra hemos practicado usando TRAVEL GAME (JUEGO DEL VIAJE). En cada paso, la solución correcta de la ecuación te hacía mover hacia la derecha o la izquierda. El final de la actividad era el final del viaje y cada pareja había llegado a su ciudad de destino.

Aquellos que llegaron a Roma fueron los que resolvieron correctamente todas las ecuaciones. ¿Llegaron ustedes a Roma?

Technology (1º ESO)

Reading aloud in the first CLIL classes lets students to lose the fear to the pronunciation mistakes and so, to gain confidence to communicate themselves.

While they remember the goal of Technology and after recognizing different daily life technological objects, it’s time to increase technical vocabulary and to practice conversation routines in the classroom (in this case, to ask about the meaning of an English word).

La práctica de la lectura en voz alta en las primeras clases CLIL hace que el alumnado pierda el miedo al error de pronunciación y vaya cogiendo confianza para comunicarse.

Mientras recuerdan la finalidad de la Tecnología y después de reconocer objetos tecnológicos diversos de la vida cotidiana, amplían vocabulario técnico y practican rutinas de conversación dentro del aula (en este caso, formas de preguntar por el significado de una palabra en inglés).

Technology (1º ESO)

Last week in groups 1st of ESO in Technology we have welcomed Emma, our English teacher in the highschool. The dynamics that we made consisted of an activity type «guessing the gaps » with cards and tables as auxiliary resources. There were several objectives that were intended: to consolidate the relationship between technological object and necessity for which it was invented (learning framed in the unit «the technological process»), integration of the related vocabulary in English language, the habit of the conversation in the classroom (for repetition, spelling), and the use of certain structures of the English language (for what it serves, what object you have…).

They asked the words that they did not understand and wrote them down on the blackboard . The one who knew the answer wrote it down. If nobody knew, I gave them the answer. Finally we corrected this summary and review activity and they put it on their notebooks.
