Technology (2º ESO)

In the work of raising the awareness against gender-based violence, an activity has been carried out in Technology during the week in which its memorial day is celebrated, on November 25th.

Students have created an essay with the aim of its publication in the center. The results have been very interesting, both for their content with which they have shown their current awareness of the problem, and for the level of written expression.

The resources were 5 minutes of time to find the specific vocabulary they needed and, as an important condition, the inability to help themselves with translators.

Searching for information on the Internet is one of the skills that are promoted to ensure that students are competent in the use of Information and Communication Technologies.

In the groups of 2nd of ESO, an activity has been carried out that combines this line of learning with the definition and recognition of the stages that occur in any technological process to develop it successfully. From a digital template and an interactive group mural (called padlet) prepared from individual mobile phones, they have translated into English a description of each stage, without the use of translators and from searching for web pages in English.

Technology (1º ESO)

Reading aloud in the first CLIL classes lets students to lose the fear to the pronunciation mistakes and so, to gain confidence to communicate themselves.

While they remember the goal of Technology and after recognizing different daily life technological objects, it’s time to increase technical vocabulary and to practice conversation routines in the classroom (in this case, to ask about the meaning of an English word).

La práctica de la lectura en voz alta en las primeras clases CLIL hace que el alumnado pierda el miedo al error de pronunciación y vaya cogiendo confianza para comunicarse.

Mientras recuerdan la finalidad de la Tecnología y después de reconocer objetos tecnológicos diversos de la vida cotidiana, amplían vocabulario técnico y practican rutinas de conversación dentro del aula (en este caso, formas de preguntar por el significado de una palabra en inglés).
